Wedding at the Garrison in Hudson Valley – Vicky + John

Vicky and John met at Stern, where they were studying for their MBA’s. Although they didn’t see each other for months after their initial introduction, they wound up going on the same trip to India. They spent much of the plane rides there getting to know each other and the rest was history. The Stern Sweethearts love to travel together and realized they had found their lifelong travel partner during the time they spent together in Australia.

As the travel bugs that they are, Vicky and John got engaged in Greece! John had told Vicky that they were going to a local spot for dinner, as recommended by the hotel they were staying with. When they arrived to dinner, they were taken down a candle-lit staircase to a restaurant that was nestled in the white cliffs of Imerovigli. John had in fact made all these plans weeks in advance. John proposed at sunset and Vicky recalls it as the most surreal and beautiful moment ever.

The morning of their wedding day started at a beautiful, rustic farm up on a hillside over looking the Hudson Valley. The gorgeous backdrop of the Hudson Valley made for a really special first look for Vicky and her dad. As we started doing portraits, one of the resident donkeys agreed to pose for some portraits with Vicky and John! It was like we traveled back to a time where having a donkey around was just a regular circumstance. Imagine my surprise when I found out that this gem was actually an Airbnb!

Vicky and John’s reception was host at the Garrison, which was situated atop a hill with stunning view of the valley. The sunset that evening was just amazing. There was a particular point during dinner where the whole room emptied out as everyone had rushed outside to take in the sunset! And Vicky and John’s reception had no shortage of awesome. Toasts made by Vicky’s maid of honor and John’s best man were filled with praise and adoration. Vicky’s dad’s speech left no dry eyes in the room. It was all around a truly beautiful day of celebration. Congratulations Vicky and John!
